How to Change Your Notification Sound on iPhone
Updated
Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics and tap Text Tone (or New Mail, Calendar Alerts and so on) to choose a different sound. To use a custom notification sound, add it to your iPhone first, then pick it from the same list.

Ringzi Alert Tones are installed using these steps — the same ones shown after you download one.
Add your Alert Tone to iPhone
1. Import your Ringzi
Open your Ringzi, tap the Apple Share button and choose Use as Ringtone.
Don't worry — Apple will temporarily make this your ringtone. We'll change it back in Step 3.
2. Make it your Text Tone
Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Text Tone, find your Ringzi (usually near the bottom) and tap it.
3. Change your ringtone back
Go to Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone and choose your normal ringtone again.
Done 🎉
Your normal ringtone is back and your Ringzi is now your Text Tone.
Give one person their own text tone
- 1
Open Contacts
Choose the person and tap Edit.
- 2
Tap Text Tone
Pick your custom sound.
- 3
Tap Done
Their messages now have their own sound.
FAQ
Can I set a different sound for each app?
Only for apps that offer it in their own settings. iPhone Settings controls system alerts like texts, mail and reminders.
Why did my ringtone change when I added an alert tone?
Apple's Use as Ringtone option sets the sound as your ringtone first. Change your ringtone back in Settings → Sounds & Haptics → Ringtone.
Can I make my own notification sound?
Yes. Ringzi creates short custom alert tones from a description — sparkles, fanfares, a voice saying a word.
